Based upon one of the famous stories by the late Junichiro Tanizaki, the script is by the director of "The Island", photography by the cinematographer for "Rashoman" and "Yojimbo", and direction by the creator of "The Hoodlum Soldier". A beautiful young girl, cruelly misused by men vows revenge. Seduced - an enormous black spider is tattooed on her back. She in turn becomes just such a predatory creature and completes her revenge only to fall victim to the tattooer who feels that it is he who has created such a monster.
