Short animation by animation artist Yamamura Koji, whose film Mt. Head was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 75th Academy Awards.
Inspired by Edo period artist Tawaraya Sotatsu's unique 17th century "Anthology with Cranes" scroll that evokes moving images, this work elicits an interpretation in the form of animation that deciphers the work's structure and Tawaraya Sotatsu's intentions. Sound design by Kasamatsu Koji. Presented in "Koji Yamamura, Dreams for Right Eye/Left Eye," a special screening of Yamamura's short films.
