Toyoda Toshiaki, who has constantly been releasing works including Wolf's Calling and The Day of Destruction, directs this twenty-six-minute period film on which he also serves as planner and producer. Kubozuka Yousuke, known for his roles in Silence and 'Giri/Haji' among others stars as the samurai. Rounding out the talented cast are Shibukawa Kiyohiko as the ritual suicide assistant and Imou Haruka as a prostitute.
In the early days of the Meiji Era, a wandering ronin (Kubozuka) is ordered to commit seppuku (ritual suicide) for the crime of spreading the plague by poisoning a well.
