[ Story ]
First film featuring Kodo, the taiko drum group based in Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture. In 2021 they celebrated four decades of sharing traditional performing arts from Japan with the world.
The project began when one of Kodo's members emailed musician Hino Koshiro, who performs solo as YPY and is a member of the bands "goat" and "bonanzas" and produced the music for this film. He spent a month in Kodo Village composing 89 minutes of original music, which the brilliant Toyoda Toshiaki committed to film with visuals shot entirely on Sado Island.
