THE FOOL

[ Story ]

A human drama modeled on a female professional boxer who fought while facing hearing impairment, inspired by her way of life. Directed and written by Miyake Sho, who received acclaim both in Japan and abroad for his film And Your Bird Can Sing. This film was shot on 16mm film.
Keiko (Kishii Yukino), who was born deaf in both ears, trains at a small boxing gym in a redeveloped downtown area. She is constantly stared at with concern by those around her and is unable to tell the gym's Chairman (Miura Tomokazu) that she wants to take a break, until one day she learns that the gym will be closed.
